Autism Today

A toast to the good work for autism

In a recent dinner party at the Pind Restaurant in Kingston, NJ, mobile application development firm WebTeam Corporation recognized the cream of the crop from the local autism community and thanked them for their outstanding contribution to the society.

Winner of the Verizon Powerful Answers Award, WebTeam Corporation develops various educational apps for children and adults with autism. Since 2005, the organization has been working closely with autism advocates and activists, educators, experts, entrepreneurs and legislators to raise awareness about the neuro-developmental disorder among the masses and build an all-inclusive Autism Management Kit that should help caregivers diagnose the problem at the earliest, set learning objectives for the affected individual and take appropriate measures to improve quality of life.

WebTeam CEO Nish Parikh acknowledged the help and support of Dale Caldwell, CEO of the Village Charter School in Trenton and former president of the Middlesex Regional Educational Services Commission (MRESC), Dr. Thomas McCool, former president of Eden Autism Services, Dr. Michael Lewis, University Distinguished Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry; and Director for the Study of Child Development at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Dr. Vidya Bhushan Gupta, Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at New York Medical College, Dr. Sunanda Gaur, Professor of Pediatrics, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School; Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the New Jersey Statewide Family Centered HIV Care Network; and Co-director of the South Asian Total Health Initiative (SATHI), Dayci Chivukula, educator and languages teacher in Thomas R. Grover Middle School, Dr. Atam Dhawan, Distinguished Professor and Executive Director, Undergraduate Research and Innovation, New Jersey Institute of Technology, and Kate Gladstone, a handwriting expert and member of the Autism Society of America Program Committee. These individuals received a crystal plaque bearing their names and a short message of appreciation.

Verizon Foundation, Eden Autism Services, ECLC of New Jersey and Easter Seals New York were among the other award recipients.

“We are deeply indebted to all of you for sharing your clinical expertise, research, and knowledge with WebTeam as we collaborate on the development of new technology tools for parents and educators in the autism community,” the WebTeam boss said before calling on the guests to enjoy the sumptuous delights of the evening.
